Absolutely loved our experience at Stokehouse St Kilda. The food was outstanding β beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was amazing.
What really made the visit special, though, was the service. The staff were incredibly helpful, especially our lovely young waitress Alys. Before ordering, I wanted a glass of sweet wine but couldnβt find one on the menu, so I decided to skip a drink. Alys noticed and kindly came back with a special wine list from the bar just for me. Thanks to her, I found a sweet white wine that was exactly my cup of tea. She truly made my day.
The location is also a big highlight β right next to the sea. Dining indoors means you can avoid the strong wind while still enjoying the beautiful sea view, which makes the whole experience even more relaxing and special.
Amazing food, wonderful service, and a perfect seaside setting. I canβt recommend Stokehouse St Kilda highly enough and will definitely be back!

If you go here, go all out. Order that extra appetizer you've been eyeing. Don't cheap out at a place that you know is going to be expensive. With that in mind, from start to finish staff was attentive, answered questions no matter how silly, and were incredibly friendly. I got to gab with some of the bartenders since Long Islands are not super common there. That tickled me good.
It's hard to think of any other dining experience that has matched the quality and enjoyment. Maybe I don't go to enough of these... As said, staff did not miss a beat and food quality and taste matched that. I felt mildly like a poser trying to dissect flavors, but that's part of the fun. And the view over the port and the ocean was stunning in the afternoon. I would recommend anyone go. I know I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

The dining room is a very elegant affair, the bar and terrace are a bit more relaxed but with the same great ocean view. To spontaneously indulge yourself while at St Kilda beach, without prior reservations, the bar is the most feasible option.
The 1/2 marron is an absolute delight, couldn't recommend it enough. The fish and chips came out tongue-burning hot and in a more generous serving than I remembered from a few years ago, with a lovely tartar sauce and surprisingly soft chips. Maybe, a deliberate shift from a more fine dining take on the pub classic to a more filling variety - competent, tasty, but nothing to write home about. The stokey date pudding was visually stunning and technically advanced, but seemed to prioritise elegance over indulgence. For sticky date, I tend to prefer indulgence.
Overall, an enjoyable meal in a very pleasant environment with a gorgeous view and a friendly, attentive service, but when a venue creates expectations for extraordinary, even "very good" may leave you feeling somewhat shortchanged. It could have come a notch closer to extraordinary, had the mocktail I barely touched for it being too spicy, seemlessly disappeared off the bill, but magic did not happen this time.

Ended up for a late afternoon lunch on a busy Sunday. Besides a first reservation related misunderstanding, the staff was lovely and very attentive. The food was overall good although a little overpriced. I enjoyed especially the octopus chorizo screwers, nice and spicy, and the fluffy focaccia! Atmosphere in the indoor area was pleasant too. Will probably go back to try some more of their meals options.

Really wonderful spot on the beach. Way better than a 4.2 on Google - I think a few reviews must be from downstairs mixed in. Food is excellent, fantastic quality and presentation and service really tip top for such a busy restaurant. Honestly one of the best meals of our trip to Melbourne!
