Subtle dressings on salad (lettuce) well cooked steak, to a T, nice chips. House Shiraz forgettable, buy something more decent, beer on tap reasonable for happy hour but a few more coins get u something really worthwhile. Passing trade a real window into the vibe nearby. Matthew was great in downstairs bar area, I checked out upstairs but smell from smoker area drove me back down, which of course was totally fine. Always good to look around. Table booking online said place was full, but hey still had options, follow your heart, Not AI. See you again soon Matthew.

Visited in Nov 2025 Stopped by The Local Taphouse one afternoon during my recent trip to MEL. The place is owned by the same folks who operate the Stomping Ground which I had visited before. The Local Taphouse is a nice establishment with a very good collection of tap beers and some nice food dishes to go along with the drinks. I had made a reservation, but would have gotten a table immediately even if I didn’t have one, given I visited late in the afternoon. I tried the tasting paddle (comprising 5 beers which I could choose) first before deciding to order a couple of them I liked separately. My friends and I ended up trying more than half of the beers they had on tap πŸ™‚ All in all, enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend a visit here if you’re in the St. Kilda area.

This place seemed to have history because my mates have visited decades ago! The couch was so much comfortable but couldn't order on QR code due to poor internet reception. They do have a long list of interesting drinks on tap hence the name. I also tried a simple dessert which felt quite simple for the price, in my opinion.

Such a cozy winter warm energy and aesthetic. Had an amazing fire place upstairs right next to the tables. The cracking of fire is a vibe. Jess and Nancy were so accomodating. It was cold outside and I was craving a warm tea, and even though there was no tea on the menu, Jess went above and beyond and brought me one over. Both women are a great faces for the brand. They made sure that we felt welcomed and were such kind energy. The food was perfect. The sticky date was amazing on a Sunday winter night. The bread and dip and Mac & cheese is a must do.

Nice chilled place with terrace seating. The staff are friendly and the beer is good. Food was great too. If I was local I'd probably be in here a lot.
