Food is just ok and very expensive compared with the flavor. I don’t mind to pay over $30 for a brunch but have to be taste amazing, unfortunately it feels like worthless. The service is absolutely terrible, the short hair lady is very rude and never look at my eyes during the conversation. Won’t be back for this kind of service attitude. Atmosphere is very good, they are roasting the coffee beans there makes smell amazing the whole venue.

Theirs is my favourite porridge in Melbourne this season. But there are plenty of other awesome options on the menu, and the coffees are very good, too. Friendly staff, good vibe. Very limited options to feed your laptop when it runs low on battery, though - but, in the case of emergency, they do exist behind the communal table…

📍Code Black Coffee, Brunswick - 3.7 ⭐️ out of 5. Very vibey in here, loved the dark interior! We had the: ➖Lamb salad with pearl cous cous and tzatziki ($25) ➖Avo toast with tomato, crispy zaatar oil and shanklish ($21) The coffee was delicious here. I also lovedddd my salad, it was super flavourful and perfectly balanced. It felt fresh but also meaty and filling with the cous cous and pepita seeds . Loved. The avo toast was really elevated by the crispy zaatar oil! One pointer, the bench seats were a tad uncomfy and could use some cushions. Overall 3.7 ⭐️ out of 5.

Industrial-style spot with indoor and outdoor seating, located right next to their factory. The staff was friendly and all smiles. Service was a bit slow. The Rockling sandwich was light but had nice flavors; the focaccia was just okay. Given the portion sizes and all the hype from awards and branding, it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Not bad, but I wouldn’t go back. The prices don’t match what you get in terms of food, experience, or the space itself — definitely on the higher side. The banana caramel latte was nice and different.!

I ordered the Middle Eastern breakfast, which was one of the most expensive options on the menu ($30) — pretty pricey for breakfast. But honestly, it was disappointing. They served just a bit of egg and lamb on the side plate, some dip sauce and tomato-cucumber on the Main plate. For that price, it really didn’t feel worth it. No judge to their coffee bcs i have been using for a while but food here is gotta fix on it or price !
