A beautiful space with a great menu! The brisket bene was deliciously balanced with some green apple and pickles and the Turkish eggs has a vegetarian options that keep it hearty and rich. The mango iced matcha is definitely worth trying, refreshing and fruity without being too sweet. Staff here were delightful and helpful with selections off the menu.

Came for brunch on Saturday around 10. Plenty of seating and service was quick. Food was good and portions generous. Menu seemed to have lots of creative and unique flavours. Because it was so creative, we added on hash browns hoping the hash browns might have been house made, but alas it doesn’t seem to be. Nevertheless, everything was still well cooked and delicious. I noticed after paying that they do discounts for takeout coffee if you bring your own cup. Always nice when places do something that encourages environmental sustainability.

Firstly the food was amazing! - The steak sandwich and the Turkish eggs were so tasty/ filling - The sticky chai was so tasty and if you want it a tad sweeter add honey (my server Shelby recommended the honey)! And a huge thank you to Shelby! You not only went above and beyond for my table but for everyone that came in! So kind, thoughtful with your suggestions and you honestly added to the overall experience

Project 281 is a large popular cafe in Brunswick. They have quite a unique decor with many plants and earthy elements. The food was presented nicely and portion sizes were decent. The service was average, with most staff being pretty friendly but we felt slightly rushed by them at times. The prices were slightly above average and there’s a 12% surcharge on Saturdays that goes up to 20% for public holidays. Overall quite a nice brunch place that’s lively and vibey!

We drove quite a distance to get here because we had just arrived in Melbourne and the coffee certainly hit the spot! Food servings were small for the price. The halloumi was delicious!
