Was in Melbourne for a week and was staying at the hotel just across this place. Saw how people queued up and got a lil FOMO moment, and guess what; DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
Came here a couple of times and the peanut butter latte hit every single time. No wonder the queue's there, the coffee's a gem!

Overlay Coffee is a unique café that truly stands out with its creative drink menu. The peanut butter coffee is surprisingly delicious and memorable, blending rich coffee flavours with a smooth, nutty sweetness that works incredibly well together. It’s well balanced, not overpowering, and unlike anything you find in a typical café. The coffee itself is high quality, with a strong aroma and clean finish. The space feels modern and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends. Friendly staff and innovative drinks make Overlay Coffee worth visiting again.

Drink so good please come back here often for any sugar fix. Ordered the hojicha latter with peanut cream (they're off menu) but it tasted like reeses peanut butter cup got married with some nutty earthy hojicha. Such a perfect combo. It's creamy thick, not overly sweet either. All the stuff are working super hard and they're really nice too! Don't forget to comeback for their other crafty drinks

Such a unique coffee shop! We came because a friend recommended their Peanut Butter Cream Latte, and as a peanut butter lover, this drink was a total surprise for me. The aroma is rich, the flavor is well-balanced, and it’s not overly sweet. Everything just comes together perfectly. I would absolutely recommend it!
The Matcha Latte is also quite nice, but if you can only order one drink, make sure you try the Peanut Butter Latte first — as long as you don’t have a nut allergy 🤧. It’s definitely the highlight here.
Overall, a very memorable visit and a must-try spot for anyone who enjoys creative coffee drinks. I’d happily come back again.

Must be one of the currently trending coffee places. I was dining across the road in Sara Craft Ramen bar, and couldn't help but notice the long queue outside of Overlay Coffee. There was an endless stream of customers so whilst it got longer or shorter at certain times, it never went away. Had to try it for myself.
