Charrd rated as no.14 burger in the world. I was really curious. I arrive half an hour before the resto open. My advice for those of you who want to try charrd, be early and plan your trip. I had to wait in line for about the 10th or 11th turn. But, they served it fast once they got your order. I ordered charrd double. I had double patty and chilli jam. Yes it is chilli jam, not spicy at all. It was nice. You can taste and the aroma of the charcoal grill in the patty. But, my asian taste bud craving for a little kick of spiciness. So, I tried it with and without chilli sauce (that I brought myself). It was both nice in their own way. But the chilli sauce that I had made the burger a little bit too sweet. Probably, I’ll try it again next time with chilli powder. And they do not have seats and table. So, you gotta find someplace else to eat it.

Look, I know my way around an American grill, but this Melbourne hole-in-the-wall is doing something with a charbroiler that borders on the supernatural. It’s a primal, smoke-kissed patty that somehow feels high-end, earning every bit of that "top 14 in the world" reputation. The flavor profile is a mad-scientist mix of sweet pickled chutney, red pepper, and a funky truffle aioli that absolutely shouldn't work together, yet it hits like a freight train. Jaclyn and I both agreed the chicken burger is just as essential as the beef, proving the kitchen isn't just a one-hit wonder. My only note: if they dialed back the sauce by just a smidge, this messy, beautiful masterpiece would be total perfection.

After waiting in line for over 30 minutes, I ordered the Double Classic and Double Charrd. Overall, both burgers are enjoyable, with smoky patties, soft buns, and savory sauces. The Double Classic, however, suffers from excessive salt, which overpowers the beef and disrupts the balance. In contrast, the Double Charrd feels far more refined—the truffle aioli and chili jam elevate the flavor, adding depth and nuance. Texturally, however, both burgers fall a bit flat. The buns are undeniably soft, and the patties tender—but the experience could benefit from a contrasting element. A touch of crunch, perhaps from crispy onions or another textural component, would add dimension and prevent the burgers from feeling overly uniform and plush from start to finish. In summary, these burgers are undeniably tasty, but with better seasoning balance and a more deliberate approach to texture, they could move from good to truly memorable.

Charrd is the latest viral burger joint in Melbourne - so I had to give it a try! It’s been ranked 14th best burger in the world by a steak website, so definitely had high expectations.. and we definitely weren’t disappointed. The burger bun is soft and chewy, but the meat patty definitely had some body and chew to it. The flavours were that of cheeseburger but elevated by the truffle mayo. The charred flavour does come from frying both buns and patty together. The lemonade was also quite tangy and homemade. There was a line (which wasn’t too long due to it being a rainy day) but it moved quickly. Overall, will be back to try the other options.

Finally went there after all the hype and recommendations from others to try their burger. Honestly it's an average burger, patty was bit too salty. Best part you can tell it's char grilled smokey flavour pops on every bite which is a plus point. The burger reminded me how in 80's and 90's burger used to be. Rating wise Burger presentation 5/5 Taste wise 5/5 Burger itself 3/5 (Patties tasted bit salty) Fried 4/5 Service 5/5 Maybe they should introduce or make an app to reduce the long line and waiting. 300grams launched their app which is fantastic. They come up with something similar. Sad they don't have any sitting arrangements to enjoy the burger straight away. Overall it was an classic back to past type of burger for me. I did enjoyed it but could have enjoyed more if it wasn't that salty.
