Old Palm Liquor is a really solid wine bar with a South American / tropical fusion vibe, and overall the food was good even if nothing hit that “wow” moment for me. We basically ordered most of the menu, and while everything was tasty, a lot of the dishes felt like things that are hard to go wrong with — roasted veggies, crispy fried items, breads with dips — where the sauces did most of the heavy lifting.
The standout dish for me was the flatbread. It’s clearly their most popular item and for good reason — baked well, great flavour, and a perfect pairing with the spreads. Close second was the oyster cream with cassava chips. The chips were super crispy, and that oyster cream had a strong seafood hit, so only get it if you like that flavour, but the texture combo was extremely satisfying.
The pickled mussel on bread was also really nice and worth ordering.
The pasta had a great baked texture with that crisp top, but our serving leaned very tomato-heavy and citrusy — not bad, just not my personal preference.
For the mains, the fish was easily the best. Perfectly cooked, balanced with a light sauce/oil, and carried the meal nicely.
The steak tasted good but felt pretty stock-standard and heavily reliant on the sauce.
The pork loin wasn’t for me — tender enough, but the flavour sat mostly in the fat, which I didn’t love.
Chips were bomb.
Overall, Old Palm Liquor delivers tasty food, great wine bar vibes, and a menu that’s easy to enjoy. For me, more hits in the smaller dishes than the mains, but still a nice spot if you’re in the area or want something different from your usual pubs and bistros.

The mussels were absolutely delicious! Although they were a bit on the pricey side, they were definitely worth it and something I’d love to have again 🙂
The pita bread was nicely chewy, but I didn’t think it paired very well with the sour cream sauce. I think it would have tasted better with honey instead.
The steak was tender, and the oysters were very fresh!
However, I believe there are better places for gnocchi. It was burnt and tasted bitter

Beautiful restaurant! We had a voucher from our engagement party to use and was our first time here. Everything we tried was exceptional - we really appreciated being taken care of. The dishes were all so unique and well paired. Great place to share a few things. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful dining experience at the infamous Old Palm Liquor. It’s been lingering and calling for me to come here and it was bomb.com
The service was super slow for a Wednesday night, it took over 2 hours for us to receive all our food which negated our experience a bit.
For appetisers we got the:
• Curried Lentil Crackers
⭐️ pickled muscles on foccacia
• Woodfired flatbread
• Roasted carrots with goats cheese
Every bite was phenomenal and packed full of flavour. I did think the roasted carrots were a bit too greasy though as they added additional oil.
For our mains:
⭐️ Baked Gnocchi
• 360g Flank Steak
• Fries with garlic mayo
The baked gnocchi was amazing with the texture; crunchy, warm and melts in your mouth. It has a very strong tomato flavour in case you’re not a fan of tomato, it may not be for you! The steak came out cold and very chewy, which is a bit disappointing however the fries were super fresh and crispy which were easy to demolish!
Didn’t get any desserts to try.
The ambience was stunning, we hoped the fireplace would be on however it wasn’t as it was a beautiful warm day that day but not complaining! Lovely and friendly staff 🫶🏼😛

A very strong performance from the kitchen, bar and service team. Great value at Sunday roast. Steaks with berber butter are excellent. Inspired starters. Multiple rooms with slightly different vibes; the main dining room easily gets noisy when busy. The fireplace is lovely during the colder season. Good, reliable place.
