I have been to the Suburban many times and it never disappoints- The staff are always welcoming and friendly , service is always spot on and efficient- the food is top rate They know how to cook a perfect rare steak which can be a challenge. their lunch menu ( pub faves and a drink ) is exceptional value . Beautiful succulent Chicken breast Parmas - with the perfect ration of Cheese ham and tomato - gorgeous fresh salad and sizzling chippies Great steak sandwiches and even the Hamburgers are heaven. We love the Consistency at the Suburban knowing that every time you go you are guaranteed a great tasting meal and epic service from an amazing team *just been for Sunday Lunch - Lambshanks were delicious - as always amazing service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The place itself is great. The menu is not bad. The service is ok. The food wait times are a little beyond reasonable. The food, my beef burger and side of chips on arrival were cold, leaving little enjoyment. My colleagues food similarly cold. But we all got our meals around the same time.

I've visited this bar/restaurant for a work event a couple of times now. It has an expansive seating area, both the ground and rooftop areas have a bar and dining options. The atmosphere is electric of an evening and a great location for a social catch up and chat.

Dinner on the Rooftop was great. We enjoyed Happy Hour and then ordered our dinner. My Lamb Salad was excellent, spicy and generous serve, I also bought roast potatoes on the side which were lovely. My husband ordered a Cheeseburger which came with fries. Unfortunately the chips and burger were lukewarm which did spoil it. We also have two glasses of local yarra valley wines which were lovely. We ordered using the QR code which many restaurants do now, but I felt we didnt get to interact with staff and it feels like we are on our own. The bar staff were busy but friendly. Our experience was good and the ambience on the rooftop is great. Will will visit again

Follow up: Mark, the general manager, called me very quickly after this review and apologised profusely and explained their processes, which i am so thankful for. Thanks heaps Mark! I emailed a week ago with my issues and didnt receive a reply so am now posting this review. I dined with a group on new years eve and requested a gluten free bun on my cheeseburger - paying 2 times (one gf option on their mobile ordering system being an extra $2 and the other being $3. To be safe, I clicked both. I understand gluten free costs extra, but to pay twice is simply taking the piss). I am a coeliac and know full well about the cross contamination risk in a shared kitchen. When the burger came out, I double checked with the waitress that the bun was gluten free. The waitress said no. I mentioned that I requested gluten free and the waitress served up a hefty serving of attitude, whipped the plate away and stormed off, muttering something. Half an hour later i got my "gluten free" burger slammed down on the table in front of me. I came to realise at 10.30 that night that it was not with a gluten free bun (again). The reaction was way more severe than just a simple cross contamination - i have NEVER been this sick from eating gluten that has been cross contaminated - but i will spare you the details. Spending all of new years day in bed with full body aches and shakes while trying to look after a 6 month old was NOT the way I pictured bringing in 2026. Additionally, I saw that the miso roasted eggplant is listed as low gluten on their menu. The item contains soba noodles which are NOT gluten free. The place needs to educate kitchen and wait staff on allergens and manners
