We had a superb Friday night dinner at The East Pantry in Keilor East, it really hit the mark. We took advantage of their $28 steak special and it was absolutely worth it.
The porterhouse steak arrived cooked exactly how I requested, served with golden chips and a great choice of sauce.
The venue has a welcoming, modern feel, comfortable for a relaxed evening out yet polished enough to feel like a treat.
Service was friendly and attentive, we felt well looked after and the pace was just right.
Value for money is excellent, especially considering the quality of the steak and the setting.
Thereβs plenty of room inside (and parking nearby), so the meal was comfortable and stress free.

Went in for the first time tonight. They were advertising the fact it was Steak Night. $28 for a 250gm porterhouse with chips and choice of 1 of 3 sauces. I ordered a large lactose free latte and a Coca-Cola to drink as I perused the menu. Looked through the menu and thought a steak might actually be nice and I didn't want a heavy or greasy meal like pasta or burgers, etc. However, as I am a victim of FV, I have had most of my teeth smashed/fractured when I was violently assaulted, so I struggle to chew fibrous steaks like porterhouse, regardless of how they are cooked. So I asked the waitress if she could pleass go and ask how much extra it would cost to substitute the porterhouse with eye fillet, which I know I can eat if thats cooked medium rare. She came back and mumbled something unintelligible, so I asked her to clarify what she was saying, and she seemed confused, so I repeated my query and she once again said she would ask her manager. When she returned for the third time, it was to tell me that it would cost an extra $30 on top of the $28 (to substitute eye fillet for the porterhouse special), making the meal a total of $58...for eye fillet with chips and choice of 1 of 3 sauces. Yet their normal menu lists eye fillet for $55 and thats with a choice of chips OR salad OR seasonal vegetables and choice of one of 4 sauces. So I pointed out that the price shs was quoting me was actually more than what their normal menu price was. She just shrugged her shoulders. I got the distinct impression that they did not want me in their venue. I was pretty upset at their response, so I decided not to order a meal and I had lost my appetite by that point. I finished my latte and coca-cola and paid for the two drinks on the way out. I wont be returning. Very disappointed with their attitude. I had a genuine reason to ask for the substitution and was willing to pay the difference, but to ask ne to pay MORE than normal menu price was just rude and pretty unprofessional. Its not easy disclosing the impact that FV has had on my ability to eat, because its a terribly confronting issue to broach, but I did so as I wanted to have a steak and thought they may be willing to accommodate my request as I was willing to pay the difference...but to tell me to pay more than their normal menu price was like a slap in the face. I felt pretty humiliated after disclosing my dietary needs due to FV. And their response and the way some of their waitresses looked at me was just not nice. Sorry I wasn't wearing designer clothing like most of your clientele. I was wearing a cheap nylon summer dress with long sleeves and thongs as if was a warm day. Sorry that I have to live within a budget and asked what I felt was a legitimate query. Sorry that you thought it was appropriate to ask me to pay MORE than your normal menu price... which was insulting, dismissive but also unprofessional. I hope that nobody who works in this establishment is ever a victim of a violent FV assault and has to make a similar request when they want to dine out and is then treated in the same way I was treated...because that just wasnt nice. I was not asking for the eye fillet substitution at the same price, as I specifically asked what it would cost to substitute the porterhouse for eye fillet, and whomever made the decision to tell me I needed to pay $58 ($30 on top of the $28), effectively charging $3 more than the same item on their normal menu (which had more choices than the special menu offer), you succeeded in making me feel belittled and distressed. Yours was a pretty judgemental and thoughtless response. So...I won't be coming back to this place just to be humiliated and treated in such a dismissive cavalier manner.
I would rather spend the money I have at venues who treat me with respect and where the staff dont look down their nose at me. And they did look down their nose at me.

Had a great birthday lunch for my mum. The staff were courteous and helpful. They attended to all our needs with a smile. Food was delicious. 6 of us were served all at the same time. Price as very reasonable.

Reserved a table outside, under cover and it was perfect. Lovely polite, kind, engaging service. Fast food preparation and tasty, delicious Southern chicken burger. Definitely will come and dine in again. Thank you.

We came here after Little Sister Cafe disappointed us.
We were very impressed by the promptness of the service, the food was fantastic and the cocktail was splendid.
Only a few small things we could critique. The broccoli in the Rostie & Broc wasn't quite charred enough to get that delicious caramelised flavour, and the coffee was warm and not very flavoured.
Otherwise, we were very pleased, we intend to return.
