Impressive buffet with a wide selection and overall good quality. The seafood was fresh, and there was a lot to choose from. The crab legs were a bit too salty for my taste, not sure if they were pre-processed. The BBQ beef selection was very good and definitely a highlight. The tempura station is a great idea, but the turnover was a bit slow during our visit, so some items ended up slightly cold and soggy. That said, the biggest surprise was the uni all you can eat and genuinely one of the best quality uni I’ve ever had. Still can’t believe it was included! Dessert was also really fun, especially the DIY shaved ice station. The bite sized desserts were very thoughtful, which was much appreciated because there was honestly way too much food already.

Made a reservation for weekend lunch which is priced at $189 with no weekend surcharge. The seafood selection was great which included fresh lobsters and crabs for grilling, oysters and shellfish, hot food, steamed seafood and fried tempura, sashimi and sushi. Tried all the different lobsters and some of the crabs and they all tasted pretty fresh except for one of the lobster. The sashimi selection included the standard salmon, tuna, white fish, scallop and sweet shrimp, as well as the more premium raw lobster, abalone and sea urchin. Tried the sea urchin and was planning to get more but unfortunately the quality was not good. The truffle smoked salmon roe was nice. For the yakiniku, the Australian wagyu appeared to have quite a bit of marbling and the staff was kind to grill the meat for us but the meats were probably overcooked as they were dry and not juicy. Some of the other beef dishes such as the tataki and tartare with truffle were tasty. It was nice to have all you can drink soft drinks, teas, juices and hot coffee. Desserts were mainly petit chocolate sweets, no fancy cakes but the samples I tried were actually pretty tasty except for the cone shaped mango flavoured chocolate. They also have a chocolate fountain, soft serve ice cream and a self serve bingsu machine. Strawberries were surprisingly very sweet with no tartness at all and the plate of mixed berries and cream was nice too. Overall enjoyed the all you can eat dining experience where you can sample a wide variety of seafood selection including different kinds of lobsters and crabs which is what this buffet is known for. Service was also great with friendly and attentive staffs who came by occasionally to check on the grill and clear the empty plates.

Really enjoyed our dinner experience here. There is so much seafood to choose from, fresh ready ro cook on the grill at your table or already cooked, sashimi, hot food, a selection of waygu beef which was delicious. All the crab varieties were delicious, the oysters so fresh and absolutely huge prawns. A variety of lobsters, one of them was so tender and sweet, the others a bit dry. The desserts were amazing, cute little morsels which allowed you to have a varitey, fresh fruit and a selection of cold drinks included in the price. Coffee also available. No waiting in lines for food, always plenty of everything available. $300 per adult, not the cheapest but was definitely worth it. I would go again. Excellent customer service.

This is the MOST expensive buffet in Melbourne! Crab89 is a Japanese-style seafood buffet goes all-out. For $300 per person (2-hour limit) you get unlimited king crab, lobster, blue-swimmer crab, sashimi, live tempura and ramen bars, steamer baskets with seafood, and a decadent dessert station with chocolate fountain, soft serve machine and a bingsu machine. What impressed most: * The variety and premium quality seafood. From king crab legs to lobster, uni and caviar the selection is outstanding. * The sushi, tempura, and ramen stations just added such a great flair. * Dessert bar hits hard - my fave was the bingsu machine and the variety of toppings to choose from. If you’re a seafood lover ready to feast and don’t mind the price, Crab 89 is worth the splurge for a special occasion or indulgent outing.

Finally went to the recently renovated location as this has been on my list since its opening! Their offerings are impressive and we found it hard to keep up with everything that was there and every time we went up to serve, there seemed to be were extra dishes added. The unlimited seafood experience now includes the longest sushi and sashimi bar in Melbourne, a seafood steamer, a live chef tempura station, and more high-end seafood options like fine caviar, tuna Otoro, lobster sashimi, and the upgraded red king crab. These top end varieties are already so expensive on its own, but it’s unlimited so imagine eating a bowl of caviar?! There is also a juice bar, a chocolate fountain and unlimited soft serve station for dessert options. The soft drinks are also included in the price! It’s a luxurious feast for seafood lovers and perfect for special occasions.
