Rice Paper Scissors

Had a reservation for 7 and we ordered the 5 share plates option. Food was absolutely delicious and even with the share plates option, they were able to accommodate our one pescatarian friend. The only negative I have to say is that we were served super flat soda water and charged for it. Didn’t feel great but small thing in the grand scheme of things. I would absolutely eat here again and can’t recommend this place enough to everyone. Excellent service - both people who waited on us were so friendly and funny.

Incredibly delicious food, amazing service! All food was incredibly delicious, outstanding presentation and quality, served in abundance, and surprisingly affordable for the quality-your guests definitely won't leave hungry! Mine were hugely impressed and very grateful. We held a birthday party in Rice Paper Scissors function room and enjoyed the Crispy coconut cups (stunning looking fine dining style and combination of flavours), flavour-packed Thai fried chicken (which was wonderfully crispy and crunchy to eat), Thai pork bao, Wok tossed greens and Crispy barramundi. Everything was absolutely delicious, looked incredible and was served in large portions. My personal favourite dishes were the crispy barramundi, wok tossed greens and Thai pork bao! The crispy barramundi was so soft, melt in your mouth and the nicest and most perfectly cooked fish I've ever tasted! The wok tossed greens were rich in flavourful sauce and the Thai pork bao was huge and perfectly fluffy. The Service was A1 by every person we dealt with from the organisation of the event to the final moment we left. Everyone at all points was so lovely and anticipated our needs before we even thought of them ourselves! (Huge thanks to everyone involved and especially Pruedonce, Audrey and Joel). The room also included every facility available from a projector screen, allowing the selection of your own play list and decorations to completely control and customise the ambience of your event. We had the private room for an ample 4 hours for lunch which gave us plenty of time to relax and enjoy the outstanding food, ambience and service! Pink + Ivory decorated the venue for us and they also did an amazing job! Everything looked stunning and ran like clockwork without a single hickup. The staff were also flexible and accommodated our last minute requests with ease! Can't recommend the venue highly enough for a meal, a function or an event -highly professional and will wow all your guests. All week later our guests were still talking about how amazing everything was and that it was the best event/venue/restaurant they'd ever been to! 5 star in every aspect! We left understanding why there was so much hype about this restaurant! Truly amazing! Do yourself a favour and an enjoy a sensational meal there!

Had such a great time at Rice Paper Scissors in Fitzroy! The food, drinks, and overall vibe were all on point. We ordered a mix of dishes — the Sweet Potato Bao, Vegan Nam Khao, Crispy Thai Wontons, Wok-Tossed Greens, Sticky Fried Tofu, and finished off with the Mango Sticky Rice. Everything was super tasty, especially the bao and the sticky rice dessert — both absolute standouts. The only one that didn’t quite hit for us was the Northern Thai Sour Curry, just not to our taste. Drinks were a highlight too — the Pandan Pine-Lime and Guava Gochujang were refreshing and full of flavour, really fun combos. Service was awesome — the staff were friendly, quick, and checked in just the right amount. The whole place had a really nice buzz to it without being too loud or crowded. Overall, Rice Paper Scissors is a solid spot for good food, great drinks, and a chilled, welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

I’ve been very eager to try here since I moved to Australia, and there was not a fraction of disappointed. Absolutely incredible! The food and service were second to none. So many coeliac safe gluten free options - all the staff are really clued up on their allergen knowledge. Felt very safe eating here! The food was absolutely incredible- fresh and bursting with so many flavours that worked really well. The staff were all very pleasant. Highly HIGHLY recommend! Please open some restaurants in the UK.

WOW! Loved every minute! From being greeted so warm and welcoming, to the delicious $10 happy hour cocktails, to the 6 course banquet! that was just to die for! Lastly the staff were so friendly and bubbly which made the experience even better!
