We loved the food and drinks here. The Peking duck was really good but the wrap was a little soft for my liking. The truffle fried rice was exceptional with lots of wok hei. Wagyu beef satay was good and the satay sauce was similar to what we get back home.
Observed a minute of silence here for the victims of the Bondi disaster.
We enjoyed our meal thoroughly.
Service was excellent.

Extremely lacklustre experienceβ¦
We had higher expectations due to the large volume of 5 star reviews. However, our time here has definitely left us feeling underwhelmed and quite frankly ripped off.
The lady on the phone was very nice, and I must give her credit for that. She was very polite and accommodating with pushing our booking back by 30 minutes. This let us feel confident and excited for our meal.
However, when we walked in, we werenβt greeted and were just asked for our name, then shown to our table. It was set for four, however we only booked for two.
We ordered the feed me set menu at $65pp and added on the Singaporean chilli mud crab, which was $110 per pound.. They offered us either a 2.4lb crab or 2.8lb crab, so we opted for the 2.4lb, but then the waiter came back to us a minute later and said someone else had taken the 2.4lb crab and our only option was to get the 2.8lb one. My partner also ordered a Guinness and the waiter didnβt even know what that was. We really had to explain to him that it was a beer, and show him where the button was on their own abacus. These might have really just been honest mistakes on his part, however this had set us up for a disappointing experience.
The feed me menu itself was reasonably priced, it tasted fine. Nothing remarkable, with our Hainan chicken being served cold, and each dish could have done with more salt and flavour. The skewers were the most flavourful dish, but was it the marinade itself or the satay that barely resembled peanut that added the punch?
Our crab was abysmal for the price they charged. $300 for a crab that lacked juicy, sweet flesh? A bowl of shrivelled meat and tough shells swimming in sauce? We really wanted to love the meal and give this place a chance, however it was really failing to impress us.
When we got up to pay, the same waiter from the start asked us how everything was today. I told him flatly that it was just okay, hoping it would prompt a conversation and to see if he would be curious as to where they may have fallen short, or if he would like to offer some sort of compensation. However, he just said, βOhβ¦β¦. this is your total, are you paying with cash or card today?β .. Unbelievable, I swear. Our bill at the end was $460, which I believe is a ridiculous amount to be charging for an experience that was so undesirable. I would be thinking twice before making a booking at this place.
We learnt that the reason why this restaurant has so many 5 star reviews is by incentive β there is a sign on each table that promises a free gelato with each 5 star review. Smart on the business, however this is not encouraging honesty.
In response to yours:
We appreciate you taking the time to explain your side, and while it did provide some clarity, we respectfully disagree with some of your sentiments. You are conveniently looking past what I believe are the most important points of my review β food that simply does not match the price point and expectations, and a waiter that seemed to be undertrained in both basic F&B knowledge and good customer service. You cannot confidently serve cold dishes, or dry and shrivelled crab at $300, if you have pride in your team and operation. You also cannot have a staff member work in a bar and not know what a Guinness is? I watched him pour it out of a bottle into a jug and serve it with 0.5mm of foam? Or have him notice that a paying guest is trying to mention that it was not that great of an experience and not even try to address it? We do not doubt that you have regular guests that absolutely adore your establishment, we also do not doubt that your team works hard with integrity and professionalism. We actually are happy for you and the community you have created; it is how you have gained your reputation. However, you fell short with us and tonight just happened to be a bad night. All the best in the future and hope that no one has to have a similar experience to ours.

An had served us and he had gotten us a table for four, despite me not having a booking, and his service and professionalism is outstanding! Our food was exceptional and had no complaints at all!
Mia also served us, and every time she came to our table her charisma and warmth shone through. Our table absolutely loved both An and Mia, and we would happily come back to dine here.
The wait time for our cocktails and meals were quick and we were very impressed. If I could give this place 100 stars I would.

We ordered few items and all of them were so good. The staff was so friendly and professional served all items at once without keeping us waiting. Pecking duck came with a surprise pancakes π₯ , veges and dressing to make our own pancakes. Great value for money. Truffle mushroom Fried rice was just next level. A must have.

Beyond my expectation as the dishes are amazing and service is excellent. We order the Hainanese Chicken, salt egg york fried chicken, deep fried barramundi and the chicken rice. All the dishes are well seasoning and on point. The portion is a bit small compared to the price though. It would be great if the hainanese chicken serves with rice as the price is pretty high and we need to order it seperatedly
