TLDR: A solid weekday lunch pho in Richmond for solo diners and small groups who like a Southern-style beef broth that runs a little sweet, but still feels balanced.
I popped into Hung Vuong 2 on Victoria Street, Richmond for a weekday lunch and walked out pretty happy. It’s a straightforward pho spot. Clean, quick, and easy.
I ordered the combination beef pho (about $20) and had hot tea. The broth was the first thing that hit. Sweet-leaning Southern style, but with real depth and a nice beefy fragrance. The best part is you can tune it to your taste. A squeeze of lemon, the raw veg, and a bit of chilli sauce helped pull the sweetness back to where I like it. The meats were tender, cooked just right, and there was plenty of it. The noodles were also spot on. Thick bánh phở with a good chew, and they held up well in the soup. The satay dipping sauce is worth getting. Mix it with chilli and hoisin and it turns into a punchy, fragrant dip for the meat.
Service was fast. The place is clean, cool, and comfortable, so it’s easy to settle in and just enjoy the bowl.
At $20 for a combination pho, it felt like good value for what you get.
Would I return: Yes.

One of the better pho places one Victoria Street. Quick service, super nice broth and generous portion. The spring rolls are nice too.

I've been to Pho Hung Vuong 2 in Richmond pretty much for as long as I can remember so it's super nostalgic to me as I have many memories with my family here. I took my friend here for lunch and it was pretty busy on the weekend. Tea is nice, staff is adequately friendly but just the usual for Vietnamese restaurants really. They serve lots of veggies with the pho like bean sprouts, thai basil and also a slice of lemon and fresh chilli. The vegetarian pho is yummy, just a basic veggies and tofu. The banh pho is really soft though I love the texture they're kind of bouncy.

Pho Hung Vuong 2’s chicken pho beat the Footscray location hands down. First time at the new spot and the pho came out firing hot, light, and refreshing — perfect for a cold winter’s day. The portion of chicken was generous, and I even ordered extra, which came with a solid amount.
The noodles were the same thicker style as Footscray — minor difference but worked well. The soup was refreshing with that classic MSG hit, but I didn’t mind at all. Overall, really enjoyed it.

Pho Hung Vuong 2 is a long-standing local favorite, often recommended by people living in the area - and I can see why. The pho is solid: the beef, beef ball, and brisket were fresh and satisfying. The Vietnamese drip coffee came pre-dripped, which was a bit unexpected, but the flavor was still decent. The interior is simple and old-school, nothing fancy - just a no-frills eat-and-go kind of place. I wouldn’t say it’s a spot I’d crave or go out of my way for, but if you’re nearby and in the mood for a reliable bowl of Vietnamese pho, it’s definitely a decent option.
