Love the vibes of this place, finally a rooftop bar in Glen Waverley! Unfortunately found the food a bit of a miss, servings were quite small for the price, and lacked seasoning- my favourites were probably the fries and calamari lol, the pasta was quite bland. I can’t handle spice, and I wouldn’t say any of the dishes were spicy despite the description. Drinks were good, and lovely atmosphere! Lovely place for a catch up in the Melbourne suburbs - not many rooftop bars in this area! ☺️ We tried the: ▪️Calamari Fritti $24 (roasted garlic aioli, lemon) ▪️Vodka Pasta $35 (spicy vodka arrabbiata) ▪️Fries $14 (calabrian chilli, mayo) ▪️Paradiso Pizza $34 (spicy prawn, arrabiatta, roasted fennel, salami xo & toasted sesame)

A bra our waitress looked after us perfectly and the other staff were also extremely attentive and personable! We chose the feed me menu which was an im pec ile range of dishes that complimented each other and our tastes. The staff really paid attention to our needs and we had a fabulous evening, the food was delicious!

We had a very enjoyable evening at Gambino restaurant. I had been aware that there was a rooftop experience in Glen Waverly, but didn’t realize that there was a separate restaurant on level five the ambience and fit out is exceptional. The food overall is of a very, very high standard and my steak was absolutely delicious and was served with a large tortellini full of a beautiful gravy. I was a little bit disappointed with my entrée. Two tiny little shark base scallops for $28 left me feeling a little bit blue but the wine list and quality of recommendations made up for it. It might be worth serving them on some sort of salad to justify the cost.

I just wanted to share my experience overall from the moment we walked in. The male waiter dressed in a blue suit and towel over the shoulder immediately assumed we were dining up at the rooftop. Rather than greeting our whole groip first, he pointed to our group and said ‘okay rooftop’. And luckily my partner was able to say no, since we had a reservation for dining and tables being set up. But we had hope that it was just a busy night which was understandable, but it kept going on throughout our evening with the same person. By the time we were sat down and getting served by the same guy. The way he addressed our table felt like we were excluded out from the rest of the other tables. So we started off with drinks to order, but the way he repeated it to us felt very rushed and rude. Also when we would mention what we wanted to get, he didn’t write it down and sometimes would come back. Fast forward to entrees: Our table started ordering food, we proceeded to order one by one. But again it was the same guy and we felt rushed and cut off, and by the time the last person on the table could say anything he was about to walk away. But we flagged him down to hear what the last person wants. So when the entrees arrived, we were told the calamari was a main size. But considering the look on the photo it looked small, but it was still good along side the raw beef. Next comes the mains: The boys ordered the steak with peppercorn gravy. One steak wasn’t cooked the way they wanted to, and we mentioned it. But our friend said it’s fine because the service took so long for the food to get there. The spaghetti was very bland and needed more sauce or something. We requested the vodka pasta to be less spicy, but it was too spicy for our friends liking. And here comes our 1kg T-bone steak, it came out brown as in well done, when we asked for medium rare. So we asked the same guy about the issue, and he brings it back to the kitchen. And the excuse was that it’s the sauce that makes it brown. Mind you we took a bit and it was chewy and not the Wagyu type of chewy that’ll melt in your mouth, it’s the chewy type that it’s well done. By then we just had to accept that even if we got it replaced it’ll take longer for another meal. But we mentioned the steak to another person and she was apologetic about the situation, and we got refunded the amount. We didn’t get to catch their names, but if we had that girl at the end of our meals then I think we would’ve had a better experience. And I don’t usually give bad reviews unless it’s absolutely necessary! We wouldn’t be coming back again.

I went here for a birthday dinner and it was lovely. The oysters and calamari were great, we had the risotto and some pasta with beef which was just okay. We also had some cocktails which were just okay as well. The cake we had for dessert was really tasty and they were kind enough to add a sparkler for us. It was enjoyable and I will be back.
