Kare is a great spot for Japanese curry, especially in summer. Their curry soba is light, refreshing, and perfectly suited for warm weather while still being full of flavour. The cherry soda and matcha tiramisu drink are both excellent summer drinks—refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. I also really enjoyed the classic curry rice with fried chicken; the chicken was crispy and satisfying, and the curry was rich and comforting. A nice mix of seasonal creativity and classic favourites. Would definitely come back.

Lovely little cafe serving Japanese style food. Really appreciated the later opening hours to allow for late lunch or afternoon snacks. Staff were friendly and efficient. Ordered the hamburg curry, the matcha float, pie, and melon cream soda. Everything was delicious. Was surprised that the curry sauce for the hamburg was different to the pie. The hamburg curry was a little more peppery. The matcha was not overly sweet, even with the icecream. The little biscuit in the matcha was a nice touch as well. Had an interesting assortment of baked goods in the cabinet too.

Range of cabinet is pretty top notch. Good range of flavours albeit limited but all done very well, their curry bread I thought might’ve been way overhyped but tbh the crunch does live up to the hype would recommend!! The donut that’s limited edition was pretty tasty with a hard sweet shell coating and a good cream filling ratio inside topped with a fat cherry making it super appetizing. Shio pan is pretty standard but made well also. Keen to try more of their bread flavours!!

Ever since I arrived in Melbourne, I have seen this spot a few times whenever I visit QVM and I finally got to try them myself! Famous for their Japanese curry, this spot is spot on! Their half-half curry was so loaded and I really enjoyed the crispy chicken and keema pork both! Their curry is not spicy but tastes absolutely flavourful! I also really enjoyed their genmaicha milk purin, creamy and not too sweet. Their hoji mitsu was also refreshing and easy to drink but can be on the sweeter side. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and would return for their curry! 😍 🥩 Signature Beef Curry Pie ($24.50) 🍛 Half-half Curry - Keema Pork & Crispy Chicken ($26.50) 🐔 Chicken Karaage ($12.50) 🍮 Genmaicha Milk Purin ($9) or ($6.90 as an add on) 🧊 Hoji Mitsu ($8.50) 🍵 Spicy Chai Latte ($5.80)

1st time dining in here and we had a very good experience! Felt like we ordered good combination of foods, with just the right portion enough for 2 ladies to finish. We ordered hambagu curry in which we shared (staffs are happy to provide mini plates). Notice the curry, it’s the biggest plate on the table so you can imagine already the size of it and get the idea if it’s something you can finish by yourself if ever you dine in here in the future. We had the chix karaage too which is perfect for small bites! Then we ended up our meal with the signature anko mochi pan which is surprisingly good, it has the perfect sweetness and crunch. We also enjoyed the matcha cloud drink! For what we had, everything is perfect. Each order compliments each other so well. Apart from the foods tasting so good, their foods look great in photos too! (See pics below, so pretty) 😍 I’d rather eat here than in other hype & expensive japanese restaurants. Will surely be back again to try other foods from the menu. ❤️
