There’s something cinematic about sipping matcha while watching trains pass by and Osoi captures that feeling perfectly. Tucked beside Anstey Station, it’s calm, nostalgic and thoughtfully designed. I had an iced soy matcha with no sugar, proper and not too milky. Lovely staff and such a special vibe. Easy place to lose an hour. 🍵🚆

A cute little Japanese themed café right next to Anstey station. Interesting bleacher-like unique seating situation adjacent to the café. Kinda cool. Not sure if the corgi is also part of the café, but, also very cute.
Staff are friendly and vibes are relaxed. Not a bad spot to visit in the morning. The drinks and pastries are not bad, but, unfortunately you're quite spoiled for choice in Brunswick and Osoi doesn't quite reach the top.
Iced matcha latte
Intensity: S, 8/10. It's ok, but, lacking a bit. They use a blend of different matchas which may contribute to this.
Consistency: S+, 8.5/10. Well mixed. Was expecting a little bit of graininess.
Value: A, 7/10. $7. Standard tho there is a cheaper place right around the corner...
Canele
Flavour: SS, 9/10. I liked it. Not super sweet, a bit buttery and slightly burnt.
Texture: SS, 9/10. Crispy outside and soft fluffy inside, spot on. An inside filling would have been even better
Value: B, 6/10. $7 is too much tbh.

Love the vibes and all the details in this cafe! Highly recommended the matcha and affogato! They are using Luther’s scoop ice cream with double espresso or matcha!!! Yet the drinks are a bit over price. Better stay longer playing the board games, petting the dogs or enjoy the atmosphere.

Osoi in Brunswick is such a cool and unique café! Their signature drinks — Cloudy with a Chance of Chai and Matcha Meadows — are absolute standouts. The chai is rich, creamy, and beautifully spiced with a fluffy “cloud” foam on top, while the matcha is smooth, earthy, and perfectly balanced. You can really tell they put a lot of love and creativity into every cup. Definitely worth visiting if you’re after something different and delicious in Melbourne.

Cozy, tidy japanese vibe cafe. Lovely matcha and Canele. Canele was moist inside, just enough vanilla flavour, crunchy outside. Saw a lovely local Corgi... Would come here every time if this place was close to my place...😩
