Brilliant cake. Horrible packing.
I ordered a cake for my daughter’s birthday from the Brunswick store. The staff helped me customize the cake to a Peter rabbit theme. The ordering process was smooth. The cake arrived at the Flinders Street store. The cake looked beautiful and well done.
However, the packaging was a disappointment. It came in a cardboard box which could not be sealed well and did not have a lid. The cake came with a paper cover and the cardboard was falling apart. I had to transport the cake home and from there to the venue with a lot of stress. I don’t think Brunetti has not done a 30 serve cake before. So don’t know how they could not manage a proper cake box.
The staff in the Flinders Street store was helpful and helped me load the cake into a taxi. The cake was great and tasted great.

First things first- the staff member that served us was excellent. 10/10 service. They went out of their way to provide a plaque and made it all very easy.
When it comes to the cake itself - Disappointing would be an understatement.
We picked up a cake for a birthday. We were told to leave it out for 2.5 hours before serving, we followed instructions.
On serving, The cake had collapsed on itself, was dry and crumbly. It tasted terrible and I was genuinely embarrassed because it looked as though I had brought a stale cake, or served a cake that I had for days.
Genuinely disappointed and still embarrassed 24 hours later.

I ordered my 21st Birthday cake from Brunetti’s Cake Builder and it was absolutely perfect. I received so many compliments about how gorgeous and delicious it was. The ordering process was so easy and there are so many options to choose from. The delivery was perfect, with great communication and hand off, and the cake was packed into the box very carefully, with tape at the bottom to ensure it didn’t slip with movement. Thank you Brunetti, this cake was a perfect addition to a special night.

I've been a frequent customer, but recently faced a disappointment. The lobster tail pastry had no filling, which was unexpected. When I informed the staff and showed them a photo, they simply apologized rather than offering a replacement. This experience has made me visit less often.
Replacing unsatisfactory items to maintain customer satisfaction is crucial. It's more cost-effective than losing a loyal customer, especially when quality is a key aspect of your brand.
