Wondering why I gave one star when food, service and atmosphere got 4 stars?
The answer is simple;
Bakers Delight are up to the same tricks that Cadbury Chocolate started a few years back and have gotten away with it.
They reduce the size of their products and charge the same amount or even increase the cost.
It's a double hit to the bottom line in a positive way. Using less product thereby reducing costs and increasing the sale price, increasing revenue.
The management thought it might go un-noticed however some keen minds have been watching.
The difference between two outlets 75 KMS apart is about 20% in size.
You do the maths, 20% less product used and within the last year a nice price increase.
Sure there have been cost rises but come on the evidence is damning, don't you think.
Btw I will continue to buy Bakers Delight bread (as I continue to buy Cadbury Chocolate), it is better for me, health wise, no preservatives and it is baked daily.
There is no issue with the quality of the food, service or atmosphere, it's the slide of hand that I'm not happy with.
If any else has noticed the smaller loaves of bread please post a review so that Bakers Delight can rectify this perceived oversight.

I get so annoyed when bakers delight cook their sweet buns till they look close to burnt. It puts me off as I think the product is dry and tasteless. I shopped at Bakers delight originally as their buns were light and looked fresh.

After finding (through biting into it) a pice of grit in my date scone, I thought I would let BD know.
Call answered by a person for whom English was not their first language who confirmed "You had a brick in your roll".
Gave up trying to get through to them and be understood and called head office to be advised that BD call centre operations were based offshore. Great to know a portion of my purchases are going offshore....
I call Customer Service to get "Customer Service", not to have to repeat myself ad nauseum to someone who has little grasp on the language spoken in the country his calls come from and his employers speak.
I then got a call from a Supervisor who, despite English also not being their first language, assured me they could escalate the issue for me.
Sorry, if BD are happy to sell out Australian workers by sending their call centre off shore, then I am happy to let them keep serving grit and whatever other surprises they may offer in their products to their detriment.
Good luck with that BD.

After reading the advertisement about your "National Hot Cross Bun day!" and reading that you "will be giving away 300 Raspberry & White Choc Hot Cross Buns" on the 13th of March. Taking time out of our day and arriving early with the family, only to be told that it's only for customers that make a purchase, despite not showing this anywhere in their advertisement.
This is Extremely poor form, from this company and the local store. I even asked where it says that? And not being shown. This is blatant false Advertising. The ACCC would have a field day here.
Please understand you have now lost our business forever.
Zero stars unfortunately not possible.

Been a fan of bakers delight bread for over ten years now however I’ve been struggling with the size and shape the last few years. Shape is not square and get holes in them occasionally. More than one store too. Sorry but I’m now an occasional customer.
