Absolutely terrible experience at this hotel. We booked a 2 night stay, and we arrived around 11:30pm. When we got into our room, we found that it was in absolutely terrible condition, dust everywhere and the toilet seat was yellow, feces on it. My partner tried to clean it, to see it was a stain, but it was all coming off when wiped with toilet paper, which was disgusting. I also have a severe dust allergy, and we had told the hotel about this with the booking and they obviously didn’t care. We called the front desk and they said they can’t do anything about it. When I asked if they can give us a different room, he took us to another room, and that was even worse! The toilet was disgusting! So we checked out of the hotel, at 11:55pm, and thankfully found a booking at another hotel. Since this has happened, I have tried to get in touch with a manager to make a complaint so this not happen to anyone else. But everyone has been giving me the run around - every day it’s a different excuse regarding why the manager is not in. I have sent multiple emails as well and no response. And of course they have told me that I cannot get a refund - even though we were literally in the hotel for a total of 15 minutes before we left! Absolutely terrible! I would suggest no one to stay at this hotel. There are a million better options. It’s a joke that they call themselves 5 star!

Not sure why the recent reviews have been negative but my stay was excellent. Rooms were very clean and tastefully designed. Full of character but still modern to keep up with the times. There’s not hiding the fact that it’s an old hotel, but the impeccable upkeep has ensured the hotel remained fresh. Does not feel or look dated. The A/C remained cold even on a 45 degree day like today. Beds are super comfy, quality sheets and warm blankets. 10/10 sleep

Good rooms with microwave, dishes, cutlery and hotplate and dishwasher . Have stayed there 3 times and each room was a different size. I always have a balcony. If you want to cook ask reception for pots and pans. Tram close by. Shop across the road. It's becoming my go to hotel when I want to stay in the city.

Stayed here for more than a night and it quickly stops feeling like a hotel. It feels more like living in the new St Kilda Road commission flats than paid accommodation. There’s a constant stream of long-term occupants rather than short-stay guests. Many appear dishevelled and uneducated, loitering around common areas and moving piles of random items in and out of rooms. It gives the appearance of stolen property activity, or at least something that doesn’t belong in a hotel environment, which raises serious concerns about security. Management are happy to take your money but show little interest in resolving issues once you’re checked in. Complaints are brushed off, nothing is addressed, and staff seem content to sit on the fence rather than take responsibility. Noise, antisocial behaviour, and a complete lack of accountability make this a poor choice — especially for an extended stay. Would not recommend.

Came here for an overnight stay & it served its purpose for our needs. Had booked a spa room, though we didn't use the spa due to not knowing how to get the bath filled to do so & couldn't work it out so had showers instead. Rooms are clean and a few teas, coffees are provided along with room service food if wished for. The bathroom could do with refreshing but again for an over night stay it was clean enough and towels etc provided so couldn't complain. A tram stops right off the location and an easy 10 minutes trip into central Melbourne. All in all it's a great spot for a short stay, would book again thanks.
